Have 2004 350z and starts great when you turn key with no problem, should you partially turn it and try again it won’t start. Wait 15 or 20 sec, try again starts right up. Can anyone help with problem, thought it might be fuel pump going bad. Thank You

A bit more detail would help. Starting problems come in three flavors:

1) Engine turns over, but fails to start.
2) Starter won't engage, clicks, or engages intermittently and won't start.
3) Nothing works, and Z is silent as you turn the key.

Thanks for your reply, engine turns over, starter engages, just if you turn key and slip and got to turn it again it just turns over but won’t start. Wait 10 or 15 seconds, will start right up.

I'd check the fuel pressure regulator, as the VQ needs stored line pressure to start immediately. The 10-15 second delay sounds like the pressure drops and it takes a few seconds to refill the lines and start.
