I was looking for interest from across the pond on a product I've developed. It's a replacement emblem for the "Z" that goes on the front two fenders. The emblem functions as a parking lamp and turn signal. The entire piece will glow and the "Z" flashes when the signals are put on. I'm gonna attach some pics of the product on and off the car. Any input is appreciated.
This first pic is of just the emblem alone. When the "Z" lights-up...that is simulating the turn signal.
Keep in mind that these pics are of a prototype and the final product will be much cleaner and precise.
Here's another close-up of it during the day. (I know...my car is filthy) This shows how it is a direct replacement to the OEM plastic "Z" emblem. I changes 0% in size/shape compared to the original...and gains 100% functionality.
The idea would be as you stated...To get rid of that little "knob" signal and kinda clean the sides up a bit. I'm not completely aware of how the JDM signals are attached, but I would assume that there is at least 1 hole (on both sides). Are they recessed into the fender at all? If not, there may be alternatives to filling/painting...such as rubber inserts?...maybe?
Yes, there is a hole on both sides but they are not recessed.
The holes. however, are too big for rubber grommets or anything like that. The holes are rectangular and are about and 25mmx15mm. They would have to be filled and painted.
Shizzle, the thingy appears to be the same size as the Z badge. In fact I think it is a standard badge that has been "fiddled with" so it wouldn't cover the hole.
I'm not sure about the postage. You could go on Courtesyparts and follow the ordering process until it comes time to find out the postage. We aren't sending anymore shipments ourselves. Courtesy is taking care of that now (thank God!!!). Dealing with individual shipments is VERY time consuming and a pain in the neck.
Oh yeah...be sure to check the main page at courtesyparts.com. They did a Flash banner especially for the Zignalz. :OMG: They're going all-out with these things, that's for sure. :irock:
