Z Turn Zignalz

Hey fellas,

I was looking for interest from across the pond on a product I've developed. It's a replacement emblem for the "Z" that goes on the front two fenders. The emblem functions as a parking lamp and turn signal. The entire piece will glow and the "Z" flashes when the signals are put on. I'm gonna attach some pics of the product on and off the car. Any input is appreciated.

This first pic is of just the emblem alone. When the "Z" lights-up...that is simulating the turn signal.

Keep in mind that these pics are of a prototype and the final product will be much cleaner and precise.

Here's another .gif I made.

This is with the parking lamps on along with the turn signals...(I think you'll have to click on it to see it animate)

It does look good.

The only question I would have is in regards to it's legality in Oz.

We already have turn signals (like the JDM) so if we were to use them we would have to take the OEM ones off, fill the holes, respray and so on.

Good luck with it though!

Here's another close-up of it during the day. (I know...my car is filthy) This shows how it is a direct replacement to the OEM plastic "Z" emblem. I changes 0% in size/shape compared to the original...and gains 100% functionality.

Thank you for the compliment.

The idea would be as you stated...To get rid of that little "knob" signal and kinda clean the sides up a bit. I'm not completely aware of how the JDM signals are attached, but I would assume that there is at least 1 hole (on both sides). Are they recessed into the fender at all? If not, there may be alternatives to filling/painting...such as rubber inserts?...maybe?
Yes, there is a hole on both sides but they are not recessed.

The holes. however, are too big for rubber grommets or anything like that. The holes are rectangular and are about and 25mmx15mm. They would have to be filled and painted.

harry - if the thingo is a solid "disc" it'll obscure the hole, and it could be attached with a smear of silastic?

Can't see a problem with legality - heaps of cars got side flashers.

Anyway, it's got 4 wheels, not 2 - know what I mean?

Yeah, I know what you mean! Farken tip tops!

Shizzle, the thingy appears to be the same size as the Z badge. In fact I think it is a standard badge that has been "fiddled with" so it wouldn't cover the hole.

You are correct. It's the exact same size as the OEM Z badge. Direct replacement.

Another shot of it..

It does look pretty groovy, and it might be something I'd consider.

The closest thing I've seen thus far is this product, which is a Z4-like turn indicator.

I don't like the way these ones bulge out from the bodywork, so yours would be a nicer choice.
both too bling for conservative old jelly here!
HmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmHmmmmm ......

I'll have a set of those suckers ....

If you ever decide to make it a commercial product :banghead:
These are really cool guys, ive been eyeing them on 350ZMotoring

Id buy a set fpr sure if the surround was gold to match the stock Ann badge

Myke what would postage be to Aus express airmail?

Can we bypass the turn signal and just wire them to the parking light only?

Ill wait to see how they look on Allen's car, i just know he'll buy a set
I'm not sure about the postage. You could go on Courtesyparts and follow the ordering process until it comes time to find out the postage. We aren't sending anymore shipments ourselves. Courtesy is taking care of that now (thank God!!!). Dealing with individual shipments is VERY time consuming and a pain in the neck.

Oh yeah...be sure to check the main page at courtesyparts.com. They did a Flash banner especially for the Zignalz. :OMG: They're going all-out with these things, that's for sure. :irock:
Sam - if you buy them from CourtesyParts, let me know.

I want to get the Nissan replacement badges (with the Z logo, I'm planning on getting rid of all of my Nissan badges out of principle) from them.

My bank account just needs to recover from my recent purchases.....
Allan there are a few little things i want from Courtesy too, but they're shipping rates are rediculous. I got quoted USD $60 to ship two badges :punch:

Let me know when you want to buy those badges, and i might split the shipping with you
