Only two 350Z ads in last Sat's Sydney Morning Herald, both Track, both 03, both 28000K odd.......

1X$47000 odd
1X$56000 " " !!!

I guess the first guy has been trying for a few weeks.

A friend was offered a blue convertible demo 6000K....$52000.00

I tested the water with my touring 3/03 44000K. wholesale, $38000.00 (best of 5 sources)

Trade ins...... $44000 against $120000.00 M3.
$42000 against $67000.00 Merc C43 Amg

'Medium' level haggling only!

Food for thought.

If you're looking for some comparisons go to www.carsales.com.au where they have 20 privately owned 350Z and 26 dealer advertised 350Z for sale.

Hard to believe that so many could be advertised through just one medium.

cheers

Problem with carsales website is that there are alot of old adds, so not as many as you think.

Price is just what someone is willing to pay!

Lot's of depreciation in the first three years, some people factor it in, others don't, hence the different prices quoted above.
It's a huge gap though, and that demo convertible was very cheap!

Oh, and trade-ins, don't forget the dealer has to add GST and then his margin, so a $44K trade-in really equals around $50K when it reaches the lot (low margin though).

I'm looking for a 350 here in Melbourne. Preferably a demo or used for $55k (max).

What do you guys reckon a touring demo will go for? How about a roadster? I was offered $57k on an 03 roadster (~8k km).

I got my NEW 2004 touring for 58,000 on the road about two months aggo. But thats after some intense hagling. So if you are willing to pay 55,000 for demo, me thinks its better to add 3g more and get something that every jack and joe hasnt driven arround.

Great prices DJ and MB. I had to pay top dollar back in early 03 - no regrets.
As you guys got your Z a few months ago, todays buyers should get an even better deal due to the 5% tarif reduction. At least another gorilla off those prices i'd guess.

MickyBoy,

Thx but I am in Melbourne and prefer a Melbourne dealer.

According to a dealer, the 5% tariff reduction "apparantly" is a benefit for Nissan Australia and no changes to dealers - do you smell something? Anyways, it will probably filter through later and for now the dealers will probably use it as a margin for some bargaining.
