It is....you been here before? I'm actually from a little town around Hazard, which is about an hour-hour and a half south of Pikeville. How are you familiar with this? I see you're from Cali....not a lot of Cali folk know very much about places here in KY. Kinda neat, as well as refreshing. Did ya just look that up on the web? LOL
Sorta from around there - My dad, his generation, and his side of the family is from Pikeville, but originally Ashland. I'm about 1...2...3... I think 5 or 6 generations removed from Randall McCoy. He was an uncle somewhere back the up the trunk of the tree.

I personally haven't been back there yet, but I will probably in the not-too-distant future. We have an old abandoned house up in Swinge Camp (if you're familiar with that area at all) that our family goes back to every 20 or 30 years and revamps; clean out the hobos, the flood silt, and cut down the trees.

I'll have to admit that I probably know more about Appalachia than I do western KY.

Thats great man. When you ever do make it out this way, let me know. It'd be great to meet someone from the forum in person.

Nerb! I am so glad you're ok! and the cousin too!!

and you are a little evil for letting us all picture a Z in this accident until the end. ;)

Your Z is ok and so is mine -- let's rejoice!
:werd: Like the others, you had me going until the disclaimer regarding it being the truck, and then it was "Phew"! "course I was wondering why you would take that particular road in your Z, until I remembered some roads just like that on some of my backroad travels. Glad all is OK
