So I got hit last week with a rock out of nowhere. I tried using some of that windshield fix stuff and I though I did ok, I could hardly see it when I was done. Now though, it is splitting along the bottom and is probably un-savable.

Any idea on price and where to go?

I have two small stone chips in my windshield (one from about 2 months ago and the other from about 8 months, no cracking). What did you use to fill the chips in yours? I want to do it before it starts to freeze so water won't expand and crack the glass. Thanks in advance.

Here's the scope on this one... The same thing happened to me. I called the insurance company and they told me that there is a liability budget that you can use to fix broken windshields, that will not increase your rate. You have up to 500 dollars to spend on this. However, anything above 500 dollars would be your deductible. If it is repairable, you can go to a certified windshield repairer that your insurance company uses and they will take care of it. Usually, when is just a repair is less than 500 dollars. When I went to safelite autoglass, they told me that my windshield could not be repaired based on the size of the crack. So it cost me 230 dollars to replace it. Hopefully this helps.

When getting a windshield replaced, do I have to wait weeks for them to order one or do people like Safelite have them in stock?

And about the tint - my windows came stock darker than most cars out there, people ask if I tinted my windows and theyre not. Will the replaced windshield have the same stock tint or will it be pretty much nontinted? I have a big ass rock gash and a foot long crack so yeah windshield has to go asap

My windshield was damaged a couple weeks ago when my car was broken into, so they are replacing it under my comp claim. The repair shop told me the Nissan windshield was approx 900 bucks, and aftermarket was 450. My insurance was cool and told them to use a Nissan, so that was nice.
