At nissan's website, it claims that the curb weight of the 350Z touring with manual transmission is 3,247 pounds. but on the little sticker on the driver's side door frame of the car, the weight is written as something around 3,800 pounds. Does anyone know a reason for the different specs...or did i just read something wrong? And is curb weight different from just normal weight? thanks in advance.

The easiest way to check the weight on your car is to takeit to the weight station , there are plenty of them along many interestate highways , or at your local track.

Curb weight basically means unloaded weight , its also called "dry" , or UVW ( Unloaded Vehicle Weight )
The UVW + the weight of all passangers ( in this case just one passanger + one driver ) + all the cargo will give you GVW ( Gross Vehicle Weight )..
From my understanding , the stickers that you get on the cars show Gross Vehicle Weight.

I see you asked about my weight drop in another thread , so I will post some pictures for you.
I got down to 2988 lbs in my touring ( which by the way is the heaviest Z out of all trims ).
At the time I weighted my Z , there was almost no gas in my tank , also passenger seat was taken out.

You can also go with lighter 17" wheels ( 30 - 40 lbs less weight )...
or you can go extreme , with taking out your AC , dashboard , radio etc , depends how far you're willing to go..
also for every 100lbs you take out from your car - you should loose .10 in your 1/4 mile times

My eyes hurt from all the nudity...

Dry cell? Is that safe for the car? Where do you get them and for how much? I just dropped at least 50 lbs taking out the cats. The Touring isn't much heavier than the next trim.

Yes , its safe for the car , few guys run this battery in their Z with no problems at all... they're everywhere , check ebay for Oddysey PC545 , they are approx. $50 plust shipping + you have to buy terminals separetly..
check out this link for more info on this..
touring isnt much heavier , but it is the heaviest of them all.. I think there's a 100lb difference between the heaviest and lightest trim..
