For those who use valvoline synthetic brake fluid, just a warning to all. They DO NOT LAST as long as other race fluids or even the OEM fluids. I had the OEM fluids for my first track event, the fluid came back all clear. On a cooler day with new valvoline brake fluid, the fluid came back brownish after 135 miles. I dont have any technical data to back it up, but common sense tells me that the fluid is breaking down. I just want to warn those who plan to race their cars with the Valvoline fluid in their brake system.

Thanks for the heads up.

One question: I know that mixing different fluids (DOT 3 and 4) will create sludge. Did you get all the OEM fluid out first? Or how did you replace the fluid?

DOT 3 and 4 are mixable, i dont think that's a problem. I got most of the OEM fluid in, I just bleed it the conventional way. I wasnt going to pay someone $100 to do it when I have to bleed it a couple times a year due to my track times
