I am about to do a full make over to my z ( nismo kit etc..) I love the look and the edge the varis air duct brings and also enhances performance. Are you guys happy that you put it on? do you wake up and go to your car and say im glad I put that on. Im looking for a clean car but also different...help?

Aloha,
YES! Don't know about performance increase as it's on a low pressure area of the Z. Sounds better since there's an opening to the engine bay, especially with an aftermarket Injen Short Ram.

Dont love or hate it so im satisfied overall. On a cool day the Z SEEMS to run stronger longer. I fabbed up a plastic piece that funnels the air directly into the airbox, but I left a break in it so there is no way water can get into the airbox. I dont drive it in rain anyways but I still left a break in case I get stuck in a storm. I will post a pic later

Water won't get in...the duct sits at a slight angle, I've never had trouble with mine. As far as being happy with it? I love it, it definitely turns heads.

Me and Paulo (above) both rockin' the LS w/ varis

I've got one with a C-West style snorkel to seal the path to the pod filter. I've driven my car in torrential rain, and I haven't had any issues.

I had more issues when I used a piece of flex pipe in the front grille to duct air into the airbox, as it was picking up splashes from puddles, than the bumper cutout.

Not sure if there's any performance gain, but it looks subtlely tough and adds a bit more noise.

I'm hot&cold on air ducts.Performance wise, don't expect too much (if anything).
Lets face it,most guys put e'm on for the looks.Thats it.
Design wise,I'm not a fan.It just stands out too much.Possibly if you had other CF
pieces, lip etc,it would balance out.Varis pieces are pretty pricey. They are also
excellent quality.I've got Varis CF canards on my Z.Had to special order. The price
was unbelievable! However,Varis makes the only CF canards that are designed for the
stock(Zenki)bumper.
