Has anyone else encountered this problem? I have an'04 Roadster that has developed an unusual starting problem. When I start the car for the first time of the day there is no problem; it starts normally. If the car runs for longer than about 5 minutes and I shut the car off when I try to restart the car all I get is a single 'click' sound. Each successive time I turn the key I get the single 'click'. If I let the car sit for approx. 5 minutes it will start without a problem. This problem has been present for about a week now and I have been through this starting routine about 20 times. I have a service appointment scheduled for Sat. Anyone have a similar experience or some thoughts?

That's a new one by me. You're not flooding the engine are you?

In the old days I would have suggested that it might be the battery cables or a starter problem! But with so many computer controlled aspects of the modern day engine who knows?

To be honest, I have no idea if you can flood the engine, but I woudln't be suprised if you can't. The symptoms sound like it could be the problem though.

You CANNOT flood a EFI engine, impossible.

Sounds to me like there might be a faulty sensor somwhere that has thermal issues. Seems like she will only start after she has cooled off some.

Took the car for service to Cherry Hill Nissan, Cherry Hill NJ. The tech had the problem diagnosed and fixed quickly. Turns out it was just a loose connection at the starter. Also had the oil changed for $28.......I'm happy
