I was wondering if you could use underdrive pullies, like those made by Unorthodox, along with a Supercharger or Turbo setup? I'm not sure if it would add too much strain on the engine or if it will work fine.

It should work just fine, the vq35 engine is internally balanced and adding UR pulleys should not have any effect with going FI. Also, I will be doing this myself when I get my APS TT. I do not see any problems, but I will keep everyone posted if anything comes up.

You can use them with Turbo setup but not the SC setups. If you use it with the SC it will reduce the amount of boost the SC generates.

A UR pulley will increase the boost. And even more so since it is Force Induction (on a SC).

Nope, sorry.

Yeah you will be underdriving the SC thus getting less boost... If you were to get the right SC and pully combo then you could correct this problem. The best thing to do it leave the stock pullies on the car if your going to go with a SC. Now a lighter pully set would be great as long as they kept the stock diameters.

Not to meantion you would have little more *bleem" under the hood

I think that is what chaparro78 meant in the first place. UR pulleys are made from CNC Aluminum blocks, hence they are lighter in weight, with less rotating mass.

Now, underdrive pulleys are smaller in diameter and would have a smaller gear ratio for the SC then the stock pulleys would have and would turn the SC slower producing less power.

SO, IF YOU HAVE PULLEYS THAT ARE THE SAME DIAMETER OR LARGER THAN THE STOCK SETUP AND ARE LIGHTER IN WEIGHT, THEN YES, THEY WILL INCREASE YOUR HORSEPOWER. Even if they are named UR Pulleys.

:goodtimes: Now lets drink!
