Okay.....I was on another forum today just browsing and a guy had ordered a new Z with Ultra Yellow. He just got notification from his dealership that they couldn't get it from the factory because of issues with the paint and that they had stopped taking orders as of 3/15/05 for that paint style. I know that online forums are full of wild tales and sometimes inaccurate info but I was wondering if anyone can verify this. I just happen to have an UY and I really don't need crappy quality paint on a car that is less than 3 weeks old for me. Any info appreciated.

No, it isn't gone. They won't discontinue a paint color before the end of one full model year.

Actually, I should have clarified. The individual didn't say they had discontinued it, he said they pulled it due to problems with the color or something to that affect. ****, I don't know. Seemed genuine enough and said also that his order was cancelled due to the color. Sounds strange to me also but you never know.

LA was only made for half a model year. Granted it was the second half, but I don't see why they wouldn't discontinue it if it weren't selling well enough. But since he did mention problems with the paint, I wouldn't be surprised that they did

Wow, how bad must the paint be if it doesn't live up to the "quality" standards of the rest of the colors?

UY is f*n hot on the Z. I wanted it but could not find a 35th with it. For the extra $500, it better be good quality! I have trouble believing this.
