This may be a dumb question. Can you put a wider tire on the track rim?

I agree with this.. seems like the stock tires round out before contacting the pavement, while I've seen other car's tires just be flat until the point of contact. It makes the tires seem skinnier than they are..

When I had my Z32, I ran 245's on the stock 16x7's and they looked great. Much more aggressive looking, better contact patch, and better handling.

should I change the size on the front tires or just leave them the same size?

So try 245 in the front and 265 in the back.

Correction: 255/40-18 F and 275/40-18 R.

Heck, I'm toying with the idea of getting 18x8.5 all the way around and slapping 275's on them.
