Hello all. I'm new to the site. I just purchased a New 04 350Z Touring PPW (was in the show room since late 04). Got a real good deal 29,500. Anyway with all the possible first mods on the car, I have decided the first thing I want to do is tint. I'm in NC and the legal limit is 32% but I don't have any idea how that looks. Please if you have % suggestions or pics, help me out. As long as it looks good I'm really not worried about legality.

Also I'm going to buy a Valentine1 radar detector, has anyone's radar performance been effected by their tint. On the Valentine1 site it says that some tinting film is somewhat metallic and reduces detector effectiveness.

Thanks guys.

32% will hardly be worth it. It's 35% in GA. Absolutely ridiculous.

Welcome. :welcome:

I'm in the Tar Heel, too.

I've had mine tinted 35% and like it just fine.

Be sure to have someone reputable do the work for you.

Congrats.

Well, I bought my Z in Las Vegas where the sun can do serious damage to anything that moves, so tint is a must out there. I have 20% on mine, so if you want to take a look it might be of some service. If you do go that low, be sure to keep in mind that it may become difficult to see at night. Otherwise, 20% is great. I had 35% on the car I had before this one and it didn't really achieve the effect I was looking for. I love the fact that you can't really see the person driving with 20% tint on the windows.
