Reise Reise - Rammstein

[attachmentid=15139]

This band is amazing, and by far this is their best album. If you can't get past the German lyrics to appreciate the music then this is not for you. Rammstein has some of the best metal grooves around. Stein Um Stein is my favorite song for the intense riff on the chorus and for the demented lyrics. While I was doing my headlight mods, I swear I listened to this album at least 7 times straight. Not many bands can make an album that solid.

Check it out!

Stein Um Stein (Stone by Stone)

I have plans big plans
I'm going to build you a house
Every stone will be a tear
And you'll never move out again
Yeah I'm going to build a little house for you
with no windows no door
It'll be dark inside
No light will get in at all

Yeah I'll make you a home
And you are to be a part of it all

Stone by stone I wall you in
Stone by stone
I'll always be with you

Without clothes without shoes
You watch me working
With your feet in cement
You brighten up the foundation
Outside there will be a garden
And no one will hear you scream

Stone by stone I wall you in
Stone by stone
I'll always be with you

What a pounding what a hammering
Outside it's starting to get dark
All of the nails stand at attention
when I ram them into your body-wood

Stone by stone I wall you in
Stone by stone
And nobody will hear you scream

I remember a song they came out with that was pretty popular on MTV. I actually liked it alot. I might have to get this album of theirs.

Another German artist I think kicks ass is VNV Nation. http://www.vnvnation.com/

John Mayer Trio [LIVE]

Always been a fan of blues and guitar. Old friend sent me a copy of the Cd.

John Mayer rocks. One of my top 5 artists.

And if you get the chance to go to one of his shows, go. I haven't heard anyone play guitar like he does since Jimi Hendrix (really). Hendrix is still number 1 in my book, but John is right up there with him. (he does some solo pieces in his shows and they are great, he comes up with lyrics on the spot too, he's a funny guy, he gets high before most of his shows though (as i'm sure most of them do))

I also like:
Counting Crows
Matchbox Twenty (Rob Thomas' stuff is alright, MB20 is much better though)
Red Hot Chili Peppers (Dani California - new song, real good)

I like some of Jason Mraz's stuff, and I found a new artist, Tristan Prettyman. She is pretty good, she sounds similar to him. I'd watch her though, she may have a much better next album. (this is her first album with Virgin records)

I have recently started buying soundtracks to movies and there are quite a few I like.
If you are looking for some with no lyrics, Goa - John Powell (The Bourne Supremacy), also Berlin Foot Chase and Moscow Wind Up.

Another is "The Mark has Been Made" - NIN (it was on Man On Fire)

Also try "Bullet and a Target" - Citizen Cope

There are some others, but they are much older (90s) and were very popular.

No problem, but you may have to jog my memory. Was I partaking in adult beverages when we were discussing said music?

Let me know, the disc will be in the mail.

I thought you meant we'd talked about it at ZdayZ and I couldn't remember.

Don't download it, let me make you an AFI CD with all the songs I like the best. I'll include some from decemberunderground, Sing the Sorrow, and The Art of Drowning.

Taproot - Blue Sky Research

[attachmentid=15208]

This CD is months old but if you, like me, bought their previous two efforts Gift and Welcome and were waiting for the lead singer's tone to finally meld with the rest of the band then wait no longer. This is by far Taproot's best CD. The best thing I could compare it to would be a much better Hoobastank with their balls still attached.

Download it. :irock:

Good stuff, man! Listening to it on the computer at work. I feel like I want to be at an outdoor concert with a beer in hand.

Bad Religion is one of the best bands ever - that goes without saying. The singer, Greg Graffin, has a solo project. The first album "American lesion" was mostly piano and acoustic stuff (original as well as Bad Relgion covers). The new album "Cold as the Clay" is not out yet, but i got a "leak". Very good music. Classic American grass-roots style music.

Pick up both of these if you want something different.
