2003 - not, well sometimes, but you can reset the ECU and be fine

2004 - yes, resetting ECU does not fix it

Mine is an 03, build date of 11/02, got Helix test pipes on them, and I have no issues.

I'm also thinking about getting Helix test pipes for my 05 350z.
Is it hard to install myself?
And can I install it with my stock exhaust?
Will my stock exhaust be louder?

Are you good in a garage? It took me 2.5 hours the first time.. now i can do it in about an hour.. There are 4 bolts that are very difficult to remove (upper bolts near engine)
And can I install it with my stock exhaust?
Yes. I have stock exhaust with test pipes.
Will my stock exhaust be louder?
Yes. If you go with straight pipes, your exhaust will be louder and there will be a strong raspy noise around 3500 RPM. You can go with resonated test pipes and 90% chance will eliminated the raspy noise. I found that different combinations of exhaust react different to test pipes.

I did full install headers, test pipes, exhaust and it wasn't too bad. Test pipes aren't too bad to remove/install. Depends on how mechanically inclined you are. Exhaust test pipes I would say a salty DIY'er can handle, headers are little more involved and major pain in the azz if you don't pull the motor :nana:

As far as sound, whoa very load with the full setup, and yes there is some raspiness to it.
