I have a stock stereo, no sub. Do you think there would be a noticable difference if I put the sub in the back of the car in a box instead of in the factory location (Behind drivers seat). Is the factory location a good place for a sub?

I like the idea of putting a sub in the back. I would love to build a custom box, but I'm worried it wont turn out good. I have never built one before. Any tips/hints on building one? How difficult is it?

I did a back box, you can see details here http://www.hypersprite.com/auto/tech-z-006/default.asp

It is not the loudest box due to it only having a single 10 but it has sold clean bass and fits my needs of leaving me the most available trunk space.

I have seen quite a few back boxes these days, wish I had links to give you, and it seems you can get something to fill any need.

I bought my JL Audio Stealthbox for the back and have loved every second of owning it. Definitely go for one in the back if you want to get the most sound from it and can sacrifice a little space. The factory location is very poor for a sub and it won't allow the sub to work at it's full potential. Plus, if you think about it, the sub is blowing right into the back of the seat, not into the air and bouncing into your ears

Wow, thats the first sub kit that I like! Very clean lookin. Probably needs guards for the speakers tho, if you actually use your trunk to put stuff in.

I'm constructing a custom fiberglass encloser for two boston acoustics G510's & Radiator set. Very challenging and time consuming project but in the end, it will all be worth it. Thank god i work in a car audio & security store with lots of tools and material for me to use. Keep in mind though that this is some early pic of my encloser. I'll be posting more tommorrow.
