Stereo Upgrade in the Z

I got a quote to upgrade the sub, and the amp that runs the sub. I want to keep the original deck and speakers in the car, coz im happy with the quality of sound, just not the bass.. Just wondering if anyone else has had this done, and was it a big improvement..?

Cheers

mate im sure if you replaced the original sub with a hooker's g-banger after a hard saturday night and connected a 9v battery you would get more bass than the anaemic sack of **** excuse for a sub that comes in the Bose equipped Z !!!

maybe im being harsh since i traded from a Patrol with 4 x 15 inch subs and 1850wRMS, but my Z has literally no bass whatsoever !!

Bose = :jerkit:
Hey Steve,

I also decided to retain the original factory BOSE Head Unit for its 6 CD in-dash functionality. However, you MUST remove rest of the audio system if you are to ever improve the quality sound. At first glance my interior looks visually like it did on the day of delivery. Today, the sound is now vastly improved. Take your time to do some research regarding the variety audio equipment that is available to you.

Yes, once you perform the very necessary audio upgrades, you'll be very glad that you did!
I certainly am. :shiftdrive:
I also kept it for the 6 stacker, although that is the only thing going for it. I find that it skips heaps, even with new cd's. That sh*ts me a bit..
hey ACT350Z my 6 stacker has never skipped at all !!! not even with burnt CD-R's or anything...

maybe u should get yours looked at under warranty or something..

i agree tho, having a 6disc indash stacker is pretty handy, but im pulling mine out to put a Pioneer touchscreen DVD player that also plays MP3's, so that solves that problem pretty much..
You might want to get your head unit checked, mine doesn't .
Mine never skipped either. Still had to go, the Bose system is sh!t.

All speakers are made of paper and the woofer would be lucky if it weighed 1kg.

There are a lot of nice HU's out there that play MP3's also which does away with the need for a 6 stacker
Mine never skips either!

I don't care anyway...no way i'm listening to anything but my bewtiful exhaust note! :shiftdrive:
Yeah who gives a crap about 6 stackers when you can hold 10 CDs worth on one MP3 disc?
Hey i have a base Z i gust bought the bose sub panel (won it on ebay 12.00) and i want to install a sub in the compartment behinf the divers seat (where it goes) and still use my stock head unit i also have an amp to install w/ it has any one atempted this? if so please pm me let me know how it went.
I find the stock stereo reasonable (for a factory stereo, anyway).

I don't understand why its got a tape deck (who the **** uses analogue tape these days?) and why a car of this price doesn't have a head unit that supports RDS and CD text, but I'll only remove the stereo when I can afford to drop a full satnav / DVD playing setup into the car.
Scathing thats because it's only an expensive car in minor markets like Oz.

You can get one in the US for 24k. At that price you can almost throw it off the Gap after 3 years and still be ahead.

yeh no ****, im still surprised such an expensive car has such an asstacular stereo !!! i had an 03 Patrol before my Z - it was only an ST and the factory Nissan stereo shat all over the Bose in the Z ... maybe not shat but im sure it sounded better..

the stereo, the lack of HID, SatNav, tyre pressure sensors, remote window drop, remote hatch open and Auto-dimming rearview mirror are the only things that let me down about the Aus spec Z... doesnt quite make sense either, since we pay a $20,000 premium (US 300hp Z Track = US$34,300.00 = AUS$45,915.48) over the US models, yet they have all these options, mostly as standard. Yes i know the economies are different, different duties, taxes etc but a $20K + "whatever the other features are worth" difference ??
:soapbox:

Oh well, im sure the Aus Govt in its vast economic wisdom are doing the right thing with regards to protecting the domestic auto producers.

ok now il :stfu: hehehe

Well, compared to Hyundai (that come with MP3 CD head units) its still relatively expensive, no matter what market you're talking about.

:headshake: Lets not go comparing apples and horse manure! Hyundai are cheap in every respect. :headshake:
