Hi guys

After 5 long weeks my stereo is now finally finished. It looks and sounds incredible, im very happy with how its turned out. The speakers and sub are still bedding in, but even now the sound is unbelievable, very sharp and way better than our home system. The 5.1 is the best feature of the install, the centre channel is so crisp and watching dvd music concerts is just on whole other level compared to stereo. In fact there are beats, guitar rifts, etc coming through the centre channel on some songs that when u switch to stereo, u cant hear them at all

Here's the list of components;

Clarion VRX935 DVD
Clarion TV Tuner
Clarion DTS/Dolby 5.1 Processor
Clarion centre channel
Custom Metra dash kit
MB Quart Q-Line front speakers running off a JBL 2x160rms amp
JBL GTi rear speakers running off a JBL 2x80rms amp
Alpine Type X 10" sub running off a JBL 2x300rms amp
UTR Led hatch and door sill covers
50sq ft of B-Quiet Ultimate
Audison RCAs
Monster Cable speaker cable
Custom leather armrests with orange stitching
Orange LEDs in sub box, amp rack and in footwells
Narva switch to turn LEDs on while driving (for chapel st use only :irock: )

The boot leds are wired to come on when u open the hatch, or via the switch. The footwell/door sill leds come on when u open that door. Bcoz of the way the Z's wired, if u open the drivers door, the passenger footwell doesnt come on, which i dont mind too much

Now onto the pics...... The night pics didnt come out too well unfortunately

Ive also got a 10.5mb video if anyone know where i can host it?

1. Tv reception is quite good here in Aus. We used two dog ear antennas mounted under the dash - I dont like the look of external arials. In the city the picture quality deterioates because here TV signals are fairly weak and the buildings shadow them, likewise stormy cloudy weather

2. The hatch and door sill covers are from http://unlimitedtuning.com/

re weight, we took some weight saving measures, id say prob 50kg max

murray the 935 cost me 4K+ back in early 2004 when i bought it. It came bundled with the tv tuner, but the DSP processor is an add on to the deck i bought additionally. Ive got the clarion ipod interface coming soon (crutchfield originally sent me the wrong item), just need an ipod now. These decks are pretty good in that you can build on them. The nav is another add on id like to buy, but still to expensive

the 935 isnt the newest screen, pioneer and alpine have newer models, but the clarion still looks the best imo, and has a 7" screen. Plus it lights up red and the screen background when u play music/radio can be changed to orange, so it matches the interior perfectly

when my installer comes back from holiday (yep i bugged the **** out of him) he's going to go to work on the rear view mirror. Im going to install some small orange leds to cast soft light over the centre console and gearstick, like the BMWs have

nice!  looks awesome!  i just don't like the color difference between the led's in the stereo and the led's in the sils.  other than that...incredible!!!!

thatll be my digital camera's fault, the stereo leds look red in the pic, they're pretty much the same in person

fitterhappier it is illegal to having moving pictures up front whilst driving, but its very easy to bypass the lock on this deck, so its up to the individual whether they want to risk it 'legally' and as a distraction

sorry...what i meant was the neon or whatever you have in the sub box and amp rack vs the led's in the rear strut bar and door sils. they look different.

i had a tv and dvd player etc in my car. i took out the relay and had it so i could have the dvd or tv playing while i was driving. was just for looks basically. i think i used it once or twice (when i was late to my buddies place....heading over there to watch the patriots game! haha)

ah. cool! (get a new camera. haha, just kidding!)

i guess...even if it was two different colors...it does (techically) tie in (since there are two different colors on the dash). the spedo is different from the digital spedo. so, it would match even if it was different colors! :)

nice set up though! looks great!
