Saw a SIlver '03 350Z, 6-speed, Popcharger, no cats, catback, manifold spacer. He claimed 265whp on the dyno.

Props to the driver, and it is a darn nice car. He on here? Also, does 265 sound strong/weak for his mods, how does that compare to the new Z's with the new motors?

Props!

Cool, his car performed about like it had 265whp (assuming 3200# weight+him and gas) based on what I saw of it. How much do Z's REALLY weight? I researched a 3200# curb weight. He couldn't have been too far off from 265whp though I don't think, based on things. Maybe he "forgot" a mod or two? Either way, guy seemed polite and not like the kind that BS's.

The weight depends on the trim level. 3200# sounds about right for something other than the heaviest Touring. As for the HP rating, that's very strong and unusually high for an 03 with those bolt-ons. Like DK stated, it depends on the type of dyno he used.

The only thing I can think of that would bump that HP up is a very stealthy nitrous system.

I put down 255 with those same bolt-ons with the stock cats, I wouldn't doubt that test pipes would net 10hp more. I had to take off my test pipes when I added my cat-back because it was making people angry on the road.

I'ma repeat what I've heard in this and many other forums, dyno ratings are for one self to know how a certain mod improved the over all power curve of your ride. You really shouldn't compare dyno charts and bench race because my 2008 Enthusiast bone stock dynoed at 266 rwhp on a dyno jet.. I'm pritty sure my car is no faster than any other brand new Z out there that dynos 240 rwhp on a different machine.

True to some extent, but some cars are strong, and some weak. I have seen stock LS1's make 310whp and some make 295whp or so. Same with mustang GT's. I have not seen too many Z dyno's though, so I dunno, maybe Z's are uber-consistant. All I know is they have run 13.6 but most run 14.1-2 (before the latest YM Z). So I know there can be some variance.

ETA: THis wasn't a bench-race. I was just curious if the guy was fudging the numbers (or mods). His car did exactly what a 3200# car with 265whp should have done in my mind. He didn't seem like a liar though, guy was really cool. Just was curious what others thought.

Well....you found me! LOL your the guy in the black car I ran on 3132 in Shreveport I assume? That was good times! What mods do you have? Great looking ride!

P.S. Look out for a red 240sx lowered with a body kit! Car has seen better days, but he has a big turbo! Spanked me like a Z06 would!

Stock (not F-body stock, REAL stock, as in paper A/C Delco air-filter stock) 2001 WS6 6-speed. She just turned 108K miles that week.

+1 to you as well!

(I presume your mods/dyno numbers are exactly what you quoted me? What kind of dyno was it on?)

What times do you run at the track, do you have a dyno chart? How well do you normally do against stock LS1 F-bodies? (trying to figure out if I am strong/weak).

PS. Based on how you did, I bet you irritate the heck out of the 05+ mustang GT owners until they get some stuff done, eh?
