Don't think it is necessary. Stock throw on 6MT is pretty short already. If you decide to get it, "$200+" if that is really the price, is very cheap for a short shift kit that is well-made. Is it well-made?
Some of the early runs had a tendancy to come loose under heavy use (e.g. track) but they changed the compound in the center bushing, and now they are rock solid. There are lots of reviews on www.my350z.com, just do a search.
