Problem with CD player

Lately, I have noticed that the CD player tends to miss 2-4 second sections of my CDs, when I drive the car in the mornings. Basically, I turn the ignition on and start driving with a CD selected, then suddenly, the music stops for a few seconds and then continues. Then it stops again and so on and so forth for a few minutes.

I have tried different cd's in the stacker and the problem is not confined to just a single CD. I have also ejected the affected CDs and checked them for any damage, but they are all clear, without scratches.

All my CDs are bought music CDs and not cheap burnt copies.

I have not had the time to test the CDs on another player, but I''l do that tomorrow, just to make sure I don't have a problem with the CDs themselves.

I've never noticed this problem before. Could the problem be related to the colder temperatures we are having now? It's approx 12C in the mornings in Sydney, but my car is garaged, so its a little warmer than being parked on the street and there is no detectable moisture anywhere.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this problem, or experienced this same problem?

Maybe the laser head need a bit of cleaning?
That was my initial thought to Yun, but I cannot understand why it only happens when I first use the CD player in the morning and not all the time???

I'll book it in with the dealer to get it looked at anyway.

I doubt its purely a temperature problem. I've started the car in Robertson (on the Great Dividing Range) at 3AM in the middle of winter, without issue. I've also done it in the Tasmanian highlands when its been snowing. With burnt CDs.

Get Nissan to look into it, but otherwise it'd be a good excuse to go aftermarket. :)
Scathing - I'm not that big into music, so I'm not interested in after market stereo equipment. I'd be happy if Nissan just fixes the problem, even if it only costs them $10 to do so.
I'll let everyone know what the solution is once the problem is resolved.
I like a bit of music now and again - it makes commuting less of a trial. I also don't like the fact that the stock head unit has a tape deck (why would anyone use analogue tape in this day and age?). And how can I buy a $60K car whose head unit doesn't support RDS, let alone CDTEXT?

I'm not looking at entering my car into dB Drags, but in terms of functionality the Bose unit is severely lacking for a car of this price. As an iPod owner, I'm just looking for something that I can natively interface my MP3 player with (which means going Alpine or Pioneer) and have full control of the music, and will display track names from CDs if the data is available on disc.
I had that problem before.. It seems when you turn on your cd player when the car is cold (usually when first started).
It would start as usual then after 10-15seconds or so it would seem like it paused then a second later or so it would start again.

This happend to be couple of times but I dismissed it.

Though let it be known I have had my cd player replaced by Nissan 2 times and its going in again for a complete CAR/Audio analysis...

Clarion/Nissan are going rip everyting apart and test if its caused by the actual Wires from the car or just a **** Audio components. Full day operation :(

PS on a personal note I suggest you turn off your audio when you start the car in the morning. From memory it only did this when it was extremely cold and foggy in the morning, and after the car gets warmed up it never happened. :) IGNORE is my advice.

PPS from my experience, Nissan will fix 1 problem but then in exchange give you 2 other problems :(
