Please help with glove box door removal...

I feel like a twit, but I can't figure out how to remove the damned glove box door. I have the rear panel removed and out of the car, but the pegs that fit into the sides are metal, and I can't seem to figure out how to remove them. Also, what have you guys done with the tension cord, or string that holds the door?

Any help is greatly appreciated. I did several searches but can't seem to find anything on this.

you can pull the pins out with a pair of needle nose plyers. the cord you have to cut or leave attached

Thank you very much. I was afraid to pull that hard, glad to hear it's okay.
