craiglist that **** man.. you should find TONS of expired helmets that people are basically giving away. My buddy got a few from CL that he practiced painting onAnyone have an expired helmet? I'm getting a new (good) helmet that I want to paint, and I want practice before taking sandpaper to it. Let me know and we can see if we can work out terms.

Well the point of dating is that they don't remain perfectly 'good' forever. Helmets actually do have a shelf life. Ozone, hair oils, and to a lesser extent, UV rays break down the foam in the helmet.Dang it, I thought this thread was going to be about how I can recertify my helmet. I think it's BS that a perfectly good helmet that's seen maybe a dozen track events is no longer 'good' based on a Snell rating.
