Guys,

I have had 350z 2003 , some years back and it always seemed to not like cold mornings. No matter What OIL I used, it would seem to be totally dry on initial start after having sat for couple of days, or even after 24 hrs.

Only the initial turnover, engineer rattles like it dry as ****.

I did then put it down to a warn engine, and sold it after 3 years.

I now recently got a 350z 2003 Roadster, and its exactly the same.

Is this then normal for 350z, to be so dry on intial start, after sitting for some time>??

I don't want to destroy my engine, I hope to keep this one now until I'm too old to drive.

is it the Oil grade??? or Engine design? or does it need a little TLC..??

Your comments appreciated.

Sickzed!

Does the noise go away shortly after you start the engine? I know that the time chain tensioners do wear and will make a bunch of noise / rattle until they get oil. I had an 04 roadster that had a sound almost like bad lifters, however, after using a mechanics stethoscope I traced the sound to the timing chain tensioners. Do a search and you will find it is common.
