Hi All
Yeah, I know the name will get some comments. :rolf2: Well, my current daily driver is an '04 350Z Roadster (triple black) which I dearly love. My hobby is a '74 Corvette T-Top that I've owned for 18 years and rebuilt from front to back and top to bottom. For a better look at it check here:

I found this site because my Z is experiencing the tire howling problem and I thought I'd do some research on it before I went to do battle with the dealer. This seemed to be one of the more informative boards around so I decided to join. Hopefully I'll be able to add a little to the board.

Velcome! :lmfao: I'm so funny...

I know someone on this site that will appreciate your labor of love. If you just got your Z, your dealer should be able to help you out with replacing the tires.

Thanks for the welcome. I've had my Z for almost a year now and have had very few problems with it. In fact this Friday will be the first time I've ever taken it in for service with 11K miles on it. I need to have the driver's window reprogrammed (lost that in the New Jersey ice storms), the CD player seems to lose the left track when it's cold, and the tire roar problem. After reading some of the stuff on the web I think I've been fortunate.

I just wanted to give you an update on my tire feathering and roar problems. I dropped my car off last week and got the Fred Astair from the service manager on whether Nissan would cover the cost of new tires and an alignment. I told him to do the best he could. He called me back yesterday and told me that Nissan would in fact cover the repair. He told me that they would cover this because the car was purchased within one year of the problem (first week of April 2004) and the mileage was within limits. This was good news but I wonder what would have happened if I took it in after the April 3rd deadline. It seems like they are reluctantly acknowledging a problem that is common known. Bad business. I'm also wondering if the revised alignment and new tires will actually solve the problem or whether it will be back in another year. I've heard it go both ways. Anyway, by next week the work should be done and I'll be keeping an eye out for future problems.

You're lucky you made it. I got rebuffed when I asked about my tires because it was barely beyond the deadline (2 years from the Z's first inservice date). Notice I said the Z, not my first inservice date...

Well, a week's gone by and no call from the dealer. They're waiting for a replacement radio because mine loses the left channel on CDs. I fix this by banging on the side of the console  but I figure it's better to get it fixed than replace a cracked console. They've called and said they have the tires in stock and can do the alignment in house so we're just waiting for this last part. On a side note they had to replace the driver's side window motor because it wouldn't reset (auto up not working). Ain't new cars fun???
