I just finished installing the new Kinetix Intake Manifold so, I thought that I'd share a few pics.

Rob I know you are going to enjoy the SSV. For me, the prototype was GREAT and now with the SSV and proper tune it is awesome. I would imagine you saw my last dyno #'s?
Looks great - are you going to get their engine cover when it comes out?

how long did it take to remove and replace?
Looks awsome! Is the strut bar close to rubbing the IM?

The cover is not that great looking plus I like it the way that it looks now so, I'm goingto pass on the cover.

Installation took about 1 hour.

Nope. There is about 3/8" clearance.

Besides, it probably wouldnt fit without modification being that you've got the vortec sc..

I would imagine a dyno tune would be necessary since the A/F is likely changed with the new plenum..To be safe as well as power tuning.. Are you planning a tune?
I found a kinetix plenum on ebay, but it looks completely different to the one shown on this thread. is this one something else? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW
let me know if it would be of any use to me, or if it is the right one. looks like the one you installed was fabricated aluminum or something, while this one is just molded plastic. let me know, thanks!

That one on ebay is the last model V4. The one in this thread is the brand new V5!! Awesomely wicked $800 V5...Nice piece if you can do it, I'd say buy this V5!!
What kind of #'s did you end up with? I'm getting mine dynoed this week. Wish me luck!

Can't wait to see what you find out!
Man that looks :OMG: sweet on there and those pictures answer the question that I had about clearance with the JIC strut brace. I would like to know the gains that you get with the new manifold installed the next time you have it dyno'd.

Also in one of your replies you said that you didn't like how the intake cover looked have you seen pictures of the new cover? If so can you post an image of it because I have been wondering what it is going to look like.

How long did it take to change out the intake?

Other than the million questions that looks awesome man!!! :yourock:
I just ordered this IM, waiting for it to arrive to install, very excited heh :)
Here's what I ended up with. Just shy of what i wanted but I'll take it

Hi everybody. I don't hang out here as often as I should, but reading around.

Here is mine, installed!

Now, it took me a little longer to install. I added the <a href='http://nipponpower.com/engine/manifold_gasket/nextgear_gasket.html]Nextgear Thermoshield[/url] gaskets so I had to remove (well, move aside) the fuel rails and the intake runners to place the lower two gaskets, put all that together, then the lower plenum gasket and the new manifold.

Note, I don't think we should refer to this as the "V5". The other plenum, the V4 plastic one is just a plenum upper cover, while this, the SSV IM is a full intake manifold.

I then had a leak that caused rough for a while, and then high idle. It was the throttle body to the manifold joint. So I removed the TB, used some RTV, and everything went fine.

Thinking that the high idle could also come from the ECU, I did an ECU reset. The next AM I went to see some guys at a local dyno and decided to dyno the car. I wasn't going to, but I was curious of the A/F since I added headers, HF cats and the IM. I didn't do well. Best run was 238.

What happened? I think it is the ECU. Since I had just reseted it 20 miles before, I think it totally negated everything. The A/F did come out quite high, almost reaching 16 and never getting below 13.

So then, for now I will wait a couple of weeks see what happens. I am reading up everything I can now on ECU, EMS, reflashing, etc. Any ideas, opinion and info on EMS/ECU/management for NA are extremely welcomed.

I honestly think that 20 miles is plenty for the ecu to reset. I've seen dyno numbers quite similar to yours with the SSV. The SSV really shines when coupled to a FI set up.
