Need some input...

I'm on my way to my next big purchase. No, not FI, but some new shoes. I'm going to go with some Gold Volk SF Challenges, as seen below. I guess I just would like some input from my friends here...

I'm planning on going with 19's, don't see much reason to go w/18's as I am going to be mainly showing (if at all) or daily driving (for time being). What's your thoughts on that. Rim prices really don't change based on the size, however the rubber is what is a little cheaper, which is understandable.

Other concerns are small ones... basically my tiny ass stock base brakes. Would the car look funny with these huge rims and my measly stock brakes? Should I wait till I can do the entire package (for asthetics) or just do it one by one?

Man, I can't believe I am about to drop 3K on rims and tires... yikes. FI is on its way when I can do it correctly and build the tranny and motor to support hopefully 500 rwhp. :irock:

Any input would be great guys. I want to hear EVERYTHING, so let me have it.

Chris

Those rims are a perfect choice.. i would not hold out for brakes.. i have stock brakes and people constantly tell me how sick my car looks.. :)

I also would get 19's .. There really is a big difference when comparing two Z's side by side with 18's and 19's

Congrats on getting these when/if you do..

I've had several ppl tell me gold wheels (or bronze) would look good on my Z. I've never been a fan of that color wheel, nor have I ever considered it until recently. The more pics I see of white with gold, the more I like it. I will always love the machined silver/polished look on a wheel for any color car. I also like anthracite or gunmetal wheels (again, it's growing on me).

I suppose if you're going to spend the money, then you should do what makes you happiest.

How do you paint wheels and keep them from peeling? Doesn't that add weight?

Well Jaysen has volk gt7 in gunmetal. They already are painted/powdercoated and clearcoated. It wouldnt add weight to strip then down and do them another color..

Thanks for all the input guys... I am really lovin' it.

So, I'm gonna go w/19's. My biggest worries were the $$$ amount for replacement rubber, but I'll just keep my stockies in the event I am short on cash if/when that time comes, and the brakes I think at this point are a non issue.

Now, to my next dilema. AZ roads are shitty at best, and I am concerned with potholes. How are Volks in strength? Am I at a higher likelyhood of bending a 19 Volk vs a 17 Stock?
