I have an automatic and the ring that goes around the shifter creaks and rattles. It is the entire plastic circular part that has the gear markings and silver ring on the exterior (all one piece). I brought it into service and they could not replicate, but replaced the part anyway. New Part, Same Rattle!! I can twist the piece a tiny bit with my hand and it seems to stop, but only when my hand is on it. Seems like the piece needs some kind of rubber buffer underneath it. Anyone else have this problem and any suggestions? Thanks

I'm not sure what the interior looks like, but when I get dash or plastic rattles I just push on them very hard, slightly moving them back into place.

It stops for a while at least.

If not, take it back and get it done again. It's under warranty isn't it?

You don't have any exhaust or sound system that is making it rattle, correct?

I have the Touring edition w/ auto climate control. The creak was coming from the climate control dials not the shifter ring. I took the ring off and removed the dials from the trim piece. I put electrical tape on the mounting points w/ some die-electric grease on all the mounting points where the dial unit attaches to the trim piece. Creaks are completely gone now. Mine would creak when you pressed on dash area around the dials so I was able to reproduce the noise easily. Just started making the noise after two years.
