Ok, I go to the gym on a regular basis, so I get into the Z after a sweaty workout and what not. I have only had the car 6-7 months and she has just over 9k. Now I keep the Z immaculate and clean (Vacuum, tree freshner, mat shampoo, armarol, etc). Now just recently out of nowhere, everytime i get in the Z and fire her up, even if the air isn't on, and the vent is closed, she spits out a smell like trash can/diaper ass. Does she need a new microfilter? Or should I shower before I leave the gym? Also could a cat or small animal have climbed into the engine bay and died? Anyone else have this? It came about very abruptly which makes me think critter in there..

The Z does not have a cabin filter.

I don't shower after working out, but my sweat doesn't smell...LOL. I don't sweat that much.

I think a mouse or something must have crawled into your engine bay and died. It's possible. Coworker of mine bought a brand new SUV and complained about the smell. They took the dash apart and found the 'critter.'

Are you sure the z does not have cabin microfilter? In the service manual it is listed for replacement.

Hahaha! Made me laugh! :)

Good luck finding the problem...try spraying some air freshener in the passenger floorboard with the air cut on high and circulating. When the air is circulating, it comes back in through there. I may be incorrect, but that's how it was on my Honda, so it's worth checking into.

Thanks for the advice, I guess now would be a good time to invest in a washer machine.
