I'am getting my new Alpine DVD player (IVAD 300) tommorrow. I cant wait. I do want to ask if anybody knows where I can take the car once everyhting is installed, to get modified so I can play DVD's while the car is moving. The shop I went to to get this installed claims by law they cant do it to work when running. They said it would just need to be grounded or something. Do any of you know where I can go in Southern California to get this done? How much? Let me know plz. Also im getting a PS2, the slim ones installed in the compartment behind the passenger seat. Also im happy since I was told I wouldnt loose my Bose subwoofer since they installed a special thing. Sorry for being vague but im not to familiar with electronics for cars. :irock:

read the install manual when you get it and you should find out how the video is disabled while the car is moving... on mine (Kenwood) it was as easy as grounding a wire..On a few alpines I have installed in the past, their securitys is just plain stupid. You had to press the brake, pull the hand brake, press the brake... or some crazy pattern like that.. Pissed me off.. but a few relays would solve that problem..

Grrr......They only gave me the Instructions on how to use but no install manual. I really have some DVD music videos that I want to play while driving and being able to glance once in a while. Any other options? By the way the unit is great and the playstation 2 system is nice with the sub.

i have this unit in my bmw and it is easy to bypass the emergency brake. you need to get a toggle switch and ground it. there are two yellow wires that come from the head unit. one is yellow/blue and one is yellow/black. i dont know which one is which, but look in the manual and it will tell you. the one that goes to the emergency brake, take that one to the toggle switch. the other wire go to the brake pedal. that wire gets tapped into the brake light. you will need to do some research on which wire is the brake light wire. after you finished that, everything should work. what you need to to is put your foot on the brake and turn the switch on and off three times, then leave it on. take your foot off the brake and the movie will turn on. then you can drive and watch at the same time. the toggle switch bypasses the emergency brake. if you have any questions PM me..

What I did for my kenwood to work while driving was to pull off the center console and find the black ground wire that goes to the e-brake. Then ya just drill it into the exposed metal there. But the wire you should be looking for would be hooked up to your e-brake. find that and your set. (I don't watch movies with mine while I drive. I like the nice blue screen)
