so i was driving down Warrigal Rd today, after dropping off my Clarion deck to get serviced and having just went with my dad to drop the C43 at FileFinish to get the rear bumper repaired (some f$#knut p-plater wanting a run in his Sylvia nudged me......but thats another story that ended in scuffed knuckles)

anyway so im driving down warrigal rd and just as i pass under the freeway i notice a council worker on a ride on lawn mower mowing the grass on the median strip

a second later just as i approach him i hear this big bang and see something out of the corner my eye. I pull over in the Myer megamert carpark and notice this on my guard :OMG:

<img width='600' src='http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v21/scascone/122_2241.jpg[/img]

so i call my insurance broker, my dad lol, and he tells me to go back and get all his details. So im back on warrigal rd 2 minutes later and the guy's disappeared, his truck, his tools, his f%$king lawnmower are gone

i flick through the melways looking for the local council office, go past and they say its not their responsibility and recommend me to vicroads. So i go past the branch off Burwood Highway, fill in the form and the guy says ill call u tommorrow

when i got home i managed to clean it up quite alot, but there are a couple light dents which when the light catches are really noticeable

lets see what happens now, i doubt ill get any cash from vicroads

as soon as i pickup the C43, ill drop off the Z

what a drainer :xZ!o:

im thinking now its a good opportunity to shave the side indicators off, like the US cars. What are the legal issues with these?

i think by law we do need an extra side indicator that is seperate from the headlight

i have the 3LED side markers that ive yet to fit, instead of running these off the parker i might run them off the indicator with a resistor, and that can act as my extra side indicators

i do really like the clean US look

time for some photoshopping

yeah the indicators have gotta go

another option would be the evo-r indicators, but i personally dont like how they stick out so much

and my photoshop.......so clean. Ill go past my bodyshop and see how much its going to cost. If i can get away without needing to paint the doors as well ill do it, otherwise its too much to paint on a 4 week old car

That's bad luck about the scratches cause by the ride on mower. Hope Vic roads of the councill will do the right thing by you.

WRT the Sylvia, I can't believe that some idiot reckons the best way to get you to drag him is by nudging your car. What a f**kwit! I trust you acquainted his face with the pointy end of your elbow.

im supposed to recieve a phone call from vic roads tommorrow, if they dont call ill go in person

re the C43, he was tailgating me down High St and kept coming up alongside me revving up then ducking back in behind me because of cars turning right off High St. Anyway i approach a set of lights and brake, just as his tucked in behind me going flat stick and rams into the back of me, cracking the rear bumper. He then reverses back and pulls up alongside me

so i put the window down thinking he wants to chat and he just ignores me, i start tooting and he still ignores me. The light goes green and he accelerated off, so i followed him.

at the next red light i pull up behind him, got out and walked up to him. He had some robin sidekick with him and he didnt put the window down or even look at me. I tapped on his side window and he wound it down half way and goes whats the problem buddy and winds the window back up while his mate is laughing, and i just polared and punched the window in. And he just took off. I got his numberplate down

wasnt the smartest thing to do because i cant report the accident now, plus i was on my own and u just never know these days

Sam -your only issue is if the Sylvia was stollen. You should still report the incident asap as the cops will believe a rear end collision as opposed to you reversing into him and he driving off. The cops should then issue the owner of the car with an infringement and he would have to wear it or nominate the driver of his car.
As I see it, you have nothing to lose.

yeah but he'll say that i broke his window, and thats road rage or assault even

im just going to let it pass

the bodyshop looks after us, so its not that expensive to fix

im more worried about the Z to be honest, as its sheetmetal damage and the car is only 1 month old :xZ!o:

Thanks took it last week testing out a digital camera. Wasnt very impressed with the camera though.

Yeah those evo-r indicators stick out way too much.

I think removing would be alot better than smoking them, at least the stock ones are better than the full orange indicators.

i atcually prefer orange sidemarkers on the front bumper, it flows better from the strip inside the headlight, but only works on black imo

what coilovers/suspension mod have u done?

I dont like the orange sidemarkers but I think the headlight strip works with the rest of the car, interior and my number plate.

Suspension is Cusco, Zero-2 Coilovers + Cusco Sway Bars and im going to test out a little stronger springs in the rear 1kg/mm more.

Murray what do u think of the silver style bulbs in the indicator

The rear would look good, but im undecided on the front. The orange globe matches the strip and doesnt look that bad

but then with the xenons on it looks crap (xenon globe on right)

So sorry to hear about the dent! I'm sure it'll be as good as new once FileFinish get through with it, they do a great job.

Regarding getting compensation, not sure how you'll fair there though. I recently had a tyre replaced, rim fixed and wheel alignment done because i drove over a pothole accidentally due to road works (which had no signs indicating road works had been performed). Cost me about $600 and i got nothing back!

Not sure if your incident applies to this but under the Roads Management Act of 2004, you will only be allowed compensation after the first $1000.

That is, you will have to pay up to $1000 and everything after that you will receive in compensation. For example, say the damage came to $1200. You must pay for it initially and when you submit your claim and it is approved, you will be refunded $200. You will also need to supply at least two quotes.

In anycase, good luck!!!

well i thought it was only a matter of going to Autobarn and buying the Philips Silvervision, but the Z takes an irregular indicator globe, a 7440

there are two companies that offer them, visionbulbs.com and evostyle.com

evostyle are cheaper, they have a pack of 4 for USD $41, and shipping priority airmail is only 6 odd bucks

im going for the evostyle ones
