Hello all!

Firstly my name is kieran, :wavey:

I am currently based near London in the UK but ive decided to move to the us as i have had enough of the weather/goverment here and im bored.

I have kind of decided on Miami, however, last time i was there i was about 5

I am considering bringing my Zed, Uk spec, right hand drive, manual 2008 313 BHP.

Will it stand out driving around miami or just blend in to all the lovely cars around me?

Here in the UK the 350z itsself isnt so rare but i have never ever seen another Temper orange one on the roads.

Secondly, where would you reccomend as a nice area to stat looking at propertys?

Many thanks,

Kieran

Your Z will blend in fine in Miami. Prepare for heat and humidity. Move to SoCal, it's a better version of Miami!

i agree with ya on the weather but its too political in cali and the taxes on everything is outrageous and not to mention how much more expensive the cost of living is compared to almost anywhere else lol...

No doubt. I would imagine that the cost of living in Miami and SoCal are similar though? I can only speak for SoCal, not Miami...

I don't know if you've looked into it already, but you might want to look into the cost and bureaucratic hassle of importing a vehicle into the United States.

Living in California, I know a lot of people who have moved here from Hawaii. And in every case, it was cheaper for them to sell their car and buy a new one in California, than it was to have it shipped stateside. So if it's a money loser to have it shipped within the US, I can't imagine it's any better shipping it from the UK.

It's too political everywhere. We're going through tough times as a country and there's a lot raw nerves out there.

As far as taxes go, yes they're high here, but there are states that a far worse (hard to believe but true). But in reality, it's all a trade off. Yes California has high sales taxes and income taxes, but it has low property taxes.

But no matter where our British gentleman chooses to live in the US, he'll most likely be paying less in taxes than he is in the United Kingdom.

ahh thanks Ronin
If you import the UK version temporarily, then you might not have the problem of registering it. I think you'll probably be better off finding a Z to buy while here in the U.S.
I didn't see your age, Miami is an interesting place to live and great to live in if you are young and have money. We lived down there for a while and my parents and sister still live down there but we got tired of the crazyness, the rude people, the traffic... and moved about an hour north to West Palm area.

There are a lot of variances in lifestyle in the whole south florida area all within an hour or so, the best would be to come check it out for a few months and see which fits your needs and desires.

As for the Z fitting in, we have it all from mild to wild, and that is just in Z's you will see Carreras, Ferraris, Lambos even Veyrons, at the shop just last night we were tuning a Gallardo and a couple of GTR's

As for the economy we have a 6% sales tax and no state income tax but unemployment is higher than other places so if a job is a concern do your homework on what you can do here.
For some reason, when I think Miami, I think 24 hour party. Could be just from what I see on TV. :)
