I have a noise coming from my exhaust (that's where it's audible from) that is worrying me. The exhaust sounds normal but every once in a while a poof sound occurs. I don't know if it is something as simple as a fouled plug or something more. Thanks for you help!

No check engine light. Car is stock with 19,200 miles on it.

What year is the car and what kind of environment do you live in(high elevation, near the ocean, always raining)? Is there any chance that the car is always outside? Maybe your catalytic converter is starting to break apart? I would also try to suggest to reset your ECU to change your fuel map to see if that will fix the problem.

My car farts every now and then too. I think it is normal. It isn't a loud sound. Sounds like a low fart to me.

The car is a 2003 and it's always been in the Arizona desert. It was babied even before I bought it and I've had it for about 2 weeks. Would the cats start to break apart at only 19,000 miles??

is it only happening at idle?
My car does the same from brand new (3 mths old).
Check your idle. If it is in the 500-600 rpm range then get it bumped upto 750rpm or so.
The misfire isn't a misfire. It will be the dual mass flywheel chattering!
I took mine to Nissan & they couldn't find diddly squat wrong, no fault codes logged. I then took it to Nismopete, a mechanic in Sydney who diagnosed the 'problem'.
Nissan Aus used to replace the clutch/flywheel here in the early days becused they did'nt know what the problem was, but now they just bump up the idle to around 750rpm.
