Koni Yellow or Tokico d-spec

My original plan was to upgrade to the Nismo S-tune suspension down the road... but, where I live (small town in Saskatchewan, Canada) the 20mm loss of ride height and the tighter springs/shocks will vastly increase the wear and tear. The car is already too low. So I need to make due with the standard '03 set-up. I do intend to track it at Gimli, Edmonton, or Calgary when the new track is finished.

I will be installing Hotchkis sway bars. What else is beneficial? Camber kits?

Swaybars offer the biggest improvement for the money. If you're sticking with the OEM springs, there's no need for camber kits. Depending on the mileage of your Z, replacing your dampers with a high quality unit like a Koni 8241 SA sport shock would be a good upgrade.

I only have 30,000km (18,000mi) on it so my shocks are solid.

What about better bushings?

Any advantage with going to a '04.5 rear spring?

Even at your low mileage, Konis would offer a performance advantage as they are slightly more aggressive on bump, while offering adjustment of the rebound side. I set mine up at full soft for the street.


Bushings are a PITA to replace and offer a mild performance bump at the cost of increased NVH. As for the later model springs, the USDM Zs offered NO performance advantages for such a swap.
