Yeah, without registering, you can view the thread, but not the pics. I'll have to check it out later.

It mimics the sh*t-eating grin you would have the first time you drive an Elise.

There are several more on the other site. The pics were posted by a member of the California Z Club, Hunter Z. Maybe Richard could ask him to post them here.

Very minimalist interior. Interesting. Front needs a bodykit.

I love the looks. Maybe when you see it in person . . .

I went to a Lotus dealer on Saturday. It was in the same auto mall where I went for a 350Z meet at the Nissan dealer in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

The bad news: The entire 2005 production of the Elise for the U.S.A. is sold out, all 2200 cars. If you don't have a deposit down already, the wait will be at least a year.

I think the truth is that the dealers bought the cars on spec, and that, while some will end up in customers' hands at MSRP, a lot will be in dealer showrooms with huge mark-ups.

The good news: Lotus has the ability to ramp up production VERY quickly, to about 4 times as many cars as they are bringing accross the pond this year.
