well i was eating at a restaurant and this lady comes in and says, "do you own a black car", i said, " yes i do". she then proceeds to say that she backed into my car. i was like WTF!!! so i go outside and i see my front bumper, hood, and headlight banged up a bit. i find out that she is the manager of the restaurant so i tell her that i would like to call the cops so i can get a police report. well, the cops wont come out there b/c it was private property, which is Bullshit!! in the end she pays for our meal and i get all her info that i need. i am really lucky b/c she could of just drove off like nothing happened. i guess i will be busy come monday. maybe i can get an aftermarket bumper or hood

WTF! That sucks J! That whole private property **** is BS! We have the same problem at work. Something happens in the parking lot, cops will not come out to investigate.

Hopefully you can get everything sorted out and get your Z back to tip top shape. Good luck!

Bah, that'll buff right out..

haha, ok, i had to.. But to be serious, the bumper needs to be replaced. The rest is just paint work. Any shop should be able to handle that. A fellow member just got a new bumper for $150-ish, shipped, unpainted. Paint will be another $150 (or less). So looks like you're in for ~$400-$500 for the whole job (bumper, plus paintwork on the hood) - as far as I can tell from the pics.

That member would be me
But really sorry to hear that jaysen. I have had nothing but bad luck with my front end. Thankfully mine will be painted and ready on monday. I got my bumper from these guys. Ordered it monday afternoon and got it wednesday morning through greyhound. They are located in Lubbock, TX so will definately be closer to you. Call them up at 1-800-692-4529 and ask for Brad. It will prob cost more to get that thing fixed than to get a new one. To get my old one fixed was $500 and to get this one shipped and painted was right at $297 total. The company will paint it for an extra $200 which isnt a bad price if you cant find a place near you to do it for cheaper. Here is the website with the bumper:

i hate the fact that restaurant parking lots are private property. the cops should still come out....but, yes, their parking lots are private property! i think it's pretty lame if you ask me. i went to the beastie boys concert a few months back and ate dinner before the show. the manager asked if i was going to the show....i said yes....and she said "well, since you're eating dinner here...just park here and walk to the show". i asked if i would get towed and she said that since it's private property...the cops have no regulation over it. but, in your case...i would think a car accident would be different!?!?!?!

Simple fender benders on private property are not worked by us either in Nashville. Unless it is a Hit and Run with suspect information or an accident with injuries. I don't have the policy infront of me, so I can't tell you exactly why, but I can imagine the **** it would be, if we had to work every single little bumper ding that occured in this large city. There goes the robbers, thieves, and murderers..ahh sh*t I have to work a little accident. It sores me to see you hit like that in the parking lot, but atleast she owned up to doing it, and actively searched for the owner of the car. That shows character, and accidents do happen...though I did shed a tear for your Z

Sory to hear about this, but if State Farm is paying, you might as well replace the headlight and take care of the hood area (not just the bumper). Jaysen, at least now you have the possiblity of getting an aftermarket front end.

Sorry to hear of the damage, Jaysen. Take comfort that it could have been worse. Definitely take advantage of the opportunity and go with an aftermarket front end!!
