I know they made quite a few cause I was looking at one but decided to go with the Pikes peak white and save myself 1100 buck....the only thing i could suggest is run the vin number and see if a statistic come up on the number made from Nissan. Gorgeous color though....Havent seen but a few on the road.

CONGRATS!! YOU have one of the colors that was discontinued!! I'm sure one of the guys here can find the link to how many were made. That rare Brickyard color was discontinued too, and someone found out how many were made.

Welcome to Tech as well!!

i thought that color was something only put on the car that was at the detroit auto show for the revealing. maybe that was a different color....cause that color never made it on a production car.

No it was definately a production color and definately not worth the mark up in price as some people have researched what it is actually made of. It looks almost like chrome silver in person

Yes, it was called Liquid Aluminum...I saw a few in person and really there was very little diff between it anf Chrome Silver. Maybe a bit brighter.

Liquid Aluminum was offered on 2004.5 models only. This means that production was limited (especially considering it cost extra), but since it's so close in color to Chrome Silver (tied with Silverstone for greatest production numbers), I don't think there can be much claim to how special it is

i know there was a production color that was similar to the chroome silver....but, i thought that was "liquid aluminum"? i thought the "liquid silver" was only on the demo car (and that paint job was thousands of dollars...not 1100)??

Liquid Aluminum = Chrome Silver. The base paints are the same. Local Z guy in the club is a paint specialist and did some research. He basically said that Nissan was ripping people off for a cool color name.

Wow, I didnt get ripped off by Nissan for once. I got the not so fancy Chrome Silver, the car has about 83 chips despite being only 4 months old.

I have yet to see a Liquid... but there are plenty of SS around. One of the Z's in my local club has a Vortech SC in his; he likes to track it.

I just saw LA yesterday for the first time and there's a noticeable difference. Looks closer to white than silver, just a tad of silver.

The liquid aluminum one is the lighter of the two. Funny you should ask, I happened to drive past one today and the difference is definitely noticeable on a bright sunny day like today.
