The wife brought up the kids discussion last night. Our be st friends just had baby #1 2 weeks ago, and my roommate from college just had their first as well. Don't get me wrong, I want kids too, but it will eventually lead to the 2-seater dilema. Wife swears she wants to keep the Z. In fact, today is her turn to take the Z to work.
I've got an 03 touring z right now, but thinking about the G35 because of the back seat factor. We're buying a bigger house, and with bigger house comes kids. 3-car garage may be my savior. I'm weighing the possibilities of a G35 or keep the Z and get a 1976 Plymouth Volare or something as a baby wagon.

What do y'all think?

OMG Keep the Z! I have been thinking about this very subject (hubby and I are planning on building a new house sometime in the near future and kids in the not so distant future...a year or two max...) and I was sad about having to get rid of the Z...but then he stepped up to the plate and bought me another car to drive in the winter (4 door sedan)....now I get to keep the Z  I think if your wife wants to keep the Z as well then you should go for the Volare...or whatever...what kind of car does the wife drive now???

Keep the Z. A friend of mine also recently had a kid, and trust me, the G back seat won't hold a baby seat for very long either. Keep the Z and get something else to drive the kid around in. Both vehicles don't need to be baby-ready.

I'm in total agreement! Keep the Z, especially if your wife is already telling you that she wants to keep it. I thought my Z was done for when my wife recently got pregnant but she knows how much the car means to me and she already has her Jeep as a daily driver.

Just understand that the modding will come down as other items become a priority when you're starting a family and moving into a house.

The modding has come to a screaching halt, as we're closing on a new 3,200 square foot home on April 14th.

Hazade - thanks! nice avatar yourself. Try not to suck any d**k on your way through the parking lot.

:wavey: Hi! I have 3 kids and a Z. What does that tell you? I had a Z before I had kids and didn't fret about it. Yes, the wifey has the van most of the time. Now I drive an old Grand Cherokee for the really bad weather. So I have 2 family cars...and a Z.

Of course the people in the Z forum are going to tell you to keep the Z! It sounds like your wife's car is plenty large for a baby. Why bother ditching something you've put so much money into?
