It's kind of normal to hear people say "wait until after the first year" before ordering a new model car. Can someone confirm the first month of production for the coupe and the roadster versions of the 350? I'm thinking full-scale production was probably about July '02 for the coupe and March/April '03 for the roadster??

well that depends.. the car was already in production in japan about 6 months earlier.. as to when they actually started producing the american version no one may ever know.

the first of the year saying probably has more to do with taxes and inventory for the dealerships.. the less cars on their lots the less money they have to dish out, thus you can get better deals in december and january usually. (also they are getting rid of previous year models)

I just ordered a 350Z in late January and asked the dealer various questions about production dates.

He indicated that Nissan's Japanese plant, typically starts manufacturing vehicles in mid-July for the following model year. For example, in mid July '04 they will start making the 2005 model vehicles.
