Great tutorial Josh. I will be changing mine out fairly soon too. And yes that is a lot of pics. Almost as many as a nudie mag (not that I have ever seen one. Just guessing)

Great How-to. Using the old speaker as a mounting bracket for the new speaker worked out great. I installed Polk Audio db6750 6-3/4" Components with no problems.

Just one thing, I surface mounted the tweater because it looked like the tweeter diameter was too big for flush mount. But the door panel wouldn't go back on becase the tweeter was in th way. So I had to unmount the tweeter, reattach the door, and remount the tweeter.

It's a pain in the ass, but the JL Audio XL component tweeter will fit in the factory location for a more stealth look.

How is the mid-bass response from the door?

Infinit Kappa Perfect 6.1

Midbass is good if you have an amp. These are not good speaker to drive with the head unit only.
