I just bought my 2004 nissan 350z. The guy i bought the car from had a pair of subwoofers in the car sometime but the subwoofers did not come with the car but he did leave the amp and all the wiring. One thing i figured the guy did was disconnected the bose speakers in my car. So i was wondering how do i take off the back and side paneling so i can get to the speakers and is it possible and if so how would i connect the amp to those speakers. But still the overall main problem is trying to get to my speakers. I need help, and any suggestions will be appreciated.

First off an aftermarket amp will not work with any of the bose stuff. don't try it. i fried a 600watt amp trying. ohms are different.

you trying to get just to the factory sub compartment? not that hard. Just pop off the cover behind the driver seat. Use a flat head screwdriver or something similar. Be kinda careful though. that plastic is sensitive. If the factory sub is there it's probably just unplugged. A couple 10mm screws i think is all that holds the sub in.

Trying to get to the actual 6 1/2's is a little harder. You have to start by removing the center console. Pop off the panel that surrounds the shifter (super easy in a manual, not sure about the a/t). Be careful of the ribbons that attach to the a/c controls. There is one screw under the ashtray/change holder, and two on both sides towards the rear (you have to move the seats forward to reveal them). Then the center console should lift up...might have to lift the e-brake. Next is the side panels, they're held on with plastic clips. Be careful because they can get brittle and are pretty weak in the first place. Couple tugs and each should pop off with a little working. The center rear panel is the same way. I think they're all metal clips though...little more durable but still clip onto plastic so they can break too. Make sure you take off the metal clip the ninja box closes onto. Two screws. Then the whole thing will pop off. The center, rear, top speaker cover is also held on by clips, some of which hide under the carpet in the trunk. Don't forget to take out the little map box behind the passenger seat. It just pops in and out of place.

Alright then, do you think it would be easier to bring it in to get this done or just try it myself. And if you think it would be easier to bring it in then do you know how much it might cost?? Im sorry but i dont know much about my z since i just got it. I just dont want to mess something up in it.

It would be easier to take it to someone sure. But it would be a waste of money. No clue how much it would cost. There's really nothing hard about doing it just watch what you're doing and take your time. Only reason i'd take it to an audio specialty place would be if he has completely rewired everything and you have no idea where to start. Which i doubt he has if there is only one amp in the car. Are you thinking he just disconnected the bose sub or all the speakers?

The bose amp for all the speakers is in the spare tire well. If i remember right it hides under the black foam on the left side. Check to make sure it is still there and hooked up. If it is you should be able to just reconnect everything.

Im gonna check up on the amp when i get back tonight. ill make sure to post back if it is there or not. If it is still there then what do you suggest doing with the aftermarket amp. Would i need to take all of its wiring out of the car?

ou can download the service manual for the appropriate year Z here: Category:Service - Nissan 350Z & 370Z Wiki Everything you would need to follow directions on accessing the speakers/amp is in the service manual. If you want to do the work yourself.
Thanks! Just what I was looking for actually. Will print this for personal reference.

Does anyone know where I can get instructions or video how to for replacing the rear speakers in a roadster? I bought instructions from Crutchfield and they were great for stereo head removal, the door speaker replacement but not for rear speaker replacement. The instructions are for a coupe and are not the same for a roadster. Any help would be appreciated.
