How do you pay for your mods?

I'd like to say I just pay with cash, but I don't have enough self control. :doh: So I sometimes put stuff on credit.
However, I now have a case of putting "mods" on loan. :doh: I bought a 1986 NASA Porsche 944 spec race car package (donor car with all parts -- a DIY) with part of a home improvement loan. I know it's not the smartest move in the world, but I just didn't want to wait any longer to get involved with W2W racing and it was a great deal.

cash, cause if i went any other route my credit card would already be maxed out for some serious mods. :banghead:

if i want something, and its a little pricey and i dont have money for it i use my credit card. (like my greddy evoTT)
i try to keep it to my checking so i dont have to use my credit card.. american express sucks lol

since im in college i dont have much money. so what i do is i take half of my monthly paycheck and put that into my "car savings" shoebox.

I sell money, so I have a different view of it. Cash equals cash flow. I may go a couple months without any ash, then make $30K, then starve for another few weeks, etc. etc. If I did not use debt, I would not be able to eat. I have paid the mortgage with the other mortgage, for months, and I have also made over $40K in 5 days. In my eyes it's all the same, as long as you pay it back. If you don't then you need to buy a truck or something, then you need to give up a pound of flesh to a guy like me. Failing to use credit is a more deadly mistake than carefully abusing it, if that makes any sense at all.

lucky for me, my expenses are less than a third of my monthly income.. so i after i pay my car/loans/rent i have enough cash to play with..
but dating multiple random women doesnt help either...

im still paying for my Z's monthly loan and keep aside another budget for maintenance/fuel/mini-mods. If i get short of cash, i just borrow from close relatives or my gf. i've had enough of credit card already - it's as tempting as a hot chick in thongs.

When I was still active duty I'd use cash and/or credit. Sometimes I'd find an awesome sale/deal and use the credit card and pay it off. But when I did have the cash I would. Now when I took this contract job and started my JWT build everything was cash unless it was purchase over the net. I refuse to use my debit card over the net while in Kuwait. I've had my checking acct hacked into once and living w/o a debit card sucks!!!

It's pretty tough sometimes to have cars as a hobby while investing on something else... You know, for future stuff.
But still, nothing beats the joy of driving the Z .

I was at the Kuwait International Airport and wanted some cash to spend at the Food Mall there .. specifically the Cinnabon outlet. Anyhoo .. I go to a ATM/Bank machine and insert my card. After all .. among the list of cards accepted is my Vista. I go to punch in my pin .. and . . uh-oh. I don't remember my pin number off the top of my head but instead .. it spells out a word. Normally .. ATM machines in the US have the same Letter/Number arrangement as your telephone. Simple. Punch in the remembered word. Not so in Kuwait. Ha. I luckily, one of the guys had a cell phone and saved me. Too funny. Intersting .. We call our numbers 'Arabic numbers'. I can see where we got the 1,2,3 and 9 (the 2,3 are simply rotated left 90°) .. and the 6 became our 7.. curious how we got the others. Their 4,5,7 and 8 obviously look like our E,V,O and A. I suppose somewhere . someone substituted characters that worked.
