That's very cool.

What's with the hood vents?
And sadly, I saw no FMIC...
Is it me, or are the headlight housings super 'long?'
The front bumper looks 'huge' to me.

cool.. any way to get that in a higher res?

i dunno. i had been looking for this since last october after the proto site went dark, and a member of my forum just now posted it and i thought i would share with you guys

if anything better quality pops up ill let you know.

but i remember the actual video off of gtrproto.com not being much larger than this.

there was one more video off that site with shiro nakamura but to my knowlege it hasnt surfaced yet. it showed some additional footage of the GT-R moving.

Sharing is caring. I'm glad you posted that. Until now, all I've ever seen are pics and concept art of the GT-R. This puts it into a better perspective for me. It almost inspires me to start saving for the purchase. Almost...

yeah the video is CG...the real new gt-rs are carrying a modified g35 body.

looking at the vid, even if the aspect ratio is slightly off, gives me a new impression of the overall shape of the car. it's really wide! the pics make it look a little tall, but looking at the vid, you can see how mean the front is, especially with those headlights- which are one of a kind. the overall design of the car works really, really well- it looks like its on the hunt- its something that we probably wont be able to appreciate really well until we see more videos of it on the road...

I agree, out of all the things on the car I want to see the headlights carry over, they just look so good.

the question has gotta be asked...... the proto was just a mock up shell right ... how did they pull this off? CG and camera tricks ?
I'm glad you asked because I was thinking the same thing. I kept playing it over and over to see the details. I think the thing that might have given it away is the camera zooming in and out and around at a high speed. I can't imagine that being done on a real road.

All I know is that the car at the Nurburgring was 100% from Nissan, it was official Nissan testing going on. That's all that the drivers/people there could say to the public or anyone who asked, couldn't reveal any specs I'm afraid. One of Mark's friends got to go during one of the days they were there, that's all that I was told by Mark.

i think the shot with the extreme zoom in on the from grill was done with the stationary mock up car and generated backgrounds.

then towards the end of the video i think the zoom out of the side view is a complete CG car.

t the shot that "looked" very real was the GT-R on the wet road with the water mist and the sunlight. you could tell the quick cuts at the begining wernt real

more recent.

a GT-R mule was spotted in the US as well, with tags that could have only come from Nissan.

Where was the sighting? Around TN? Or Detroit?

Arizona.
I've heard someone say that Nissan has a test facility there.
The new 07 G35 Sedan has been spotted around there as well (that spotting was in the last few weeks)
Sedona would be a great place for a test facility. There are so many twisties and perfect spots for a photo shoot.
