Just a quick intro, my name is Tommy and I own a Black 2003 350Z touring with the Nismo Catback exhaust and cold air intake systems. I brought the car with 6,500 miles on it and I fell totally in love with this car. Although as we all know these cars are notorious for feathering and tire roar, I still think its worth owning. I hope Nissan will step up and do the right thing. But If they do not I'll find a way to fix the problem myself. If anyone has made any mods which corrected the feathering issue with their Z, I ask you please share the info, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

The said tire roar does NOT happen to all the 2003 350Zs. Certain driving habits DO play a major role when encountering this dilemma. However, keep in mind that Nissan claims that they will address your tire feathering problems on a case by case issue. (Mileage & Age of vehicle come into play) Should you experience that specific front end nightmare - do NOT hesitate to have Nissan provide you the necessary fix [alignment and/or tire replacemant] for you beloved Z.

Congrats on your purchase of a 350Z...& welcome to the site.

All 350's seem to act individually with respect to feathering...there are many, many threads devoted to this issue. NNA will replace the front tires on '03 models and some '04's if the owner complains of a roaring sound. I do not know if there is a milage cut-off point where NNA stops providing free replacement tires.

Some Z's react well to suspension modifications, others have had to replace the front upper control arms with an adjustable, aftermarket component. Some have had no problem at all with the OEM setup. The feathering usually becomes noticeable at around 8K miles or more....check for uneven tread wear on the inside of your front rubber. Hope you don't have any problems ...enjoy your Z
