I just got back from Aaron's aka Zivman house. He put my pipes on for me and I supervised. More like sat and watched him work. Here are some pics of the old cats and the new pipes. Thanks Aaron I owe you one.

I just want to say to all those that got rid of their test pipes because of the ricer rasp:

The car sounds very good with test pipes and stock exhaust. Under light load, the note is a bit hollow sounding, but under WOT, the note is very nice- exotic almost.

I never heard my test pipes on my stock exhaust, so this was a first for me.

The rasp is very minimal and very tolerable.

So those of you that are on the fence about test pipes due to the potential rasp, I say get them, they won't turn your nissan into a honda.

Nice job on the install, looks good!

I was wondering if the Helix test pipes came with a place to install the O2 sensor, and, if not, what you did to solve the problem (CEL).

I know that later models (04.5 and later) will not error, but was wondering if you did have this problem, what you did to fix it.

I am interested in getting some test pipes for my z, but I want to know what I am getting in to before I do so.

Thanks

03's usually don't throw codes

04's+ usually do throw codes - easily fixed with nonfoulers. Do a search for HELP nonfoulers.

I've been trying to convince people that the Helix pipes on stock exhaust isn't as bad as everyone says. I agree that it has an exotic sound to it, almost like being at a Grand Am series or GT touring race event. They all sound good at WOT.

Cool, good info.
I'm currently researching this now for my next mod since we don't have emissions tests here in HI. Are these the best pipes for the gains/$$
As far as the install how hard is it? I guess I'll stumble on a HOW TO in here somewhere but is it difficult? Thanks guys. :)

It's definitely worth it. Good bang for the buck, as they say around these parts.

Thanks Dave, yeah I'm definately getting a set. Just emailed Noah from Caliente for the shipping cost, that's going to suck.
