Well everything is finally set up and working (Except for my rear-usb-cam which should be done soon). I made a small website with prices on components and installation pictures which i hope would make it easier than a huuuge thread...
All for under 500 bucks... this is for the pure DIY enthusiast.. thanks to leemik & others for help from the mp3car forum...

Click on the "Car-Computer Project link"
Website with Pictures of Car computer

Features :-
Touch-screen : DVD player : GPS Navigation (Routis 2004) with Voice : Bluetooth Phone-Integration : Internet (Real-time traffic data) : MP3/AAC/Wma player : Rear-usb-cam(installation pending)

P.S. I had posted this on the other forums but since 350ztech has revamped their site, thought id post it here too ...

Here is a pic :)

**** nice setup! I realy liked to video on your website too! If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.... :). You might want to add pricewatch.com and newegg.com to your website as well. Is mediacar the name of the program that you used for your touchscreen setup?

Nice job. I really like it! I've been toying with the idea of doing one of these for so long but funds are tight. 500 bucks is cheap, but the cost of the computer has to be included in there somewhere. Have you had any issues with overheating since your laptop is in the car?

even down here in New Orleans (home of 80-90 degree days) I have not had any problems. A simple case fan to allow ventilation of the glove box behind the passenger seat might be needed. If you were to close the door the air would just recirculate untill it got very hot and eventually crash the computer. But a hole or a fan over a hole does the job beautifully.
