nice results! i just had my pulley installed today and i also have intake dont know if i can tell a diffrence?? In the middle of this month im orderind plenum and HFC from kenetix...by the way the z's not that expensive to mod.. my friend has an m3 wow now that expensive
First, THANKS! I'm really happy. But, compared to cars like my old Evo 8 or a STi the Z tends to be expensive to mod. The upside is that I don't have to worry about the Z breaking or not covered under warranty vs my old Evo 8.

seriously there are things not covered under warranty out the door on an EVO?????

like what! I'm only curious!

HaHa the only way to beat the 800 dollar mark would b to use a drop in K&N for like 35 bucks.

but then again some people love the sound of an open air filter!

 K&N Filter. As far as the Evo question: Clutch & transfercase were the big ones. The thing is that a OEM clutch is $2k installed from Mitsu vs the ACT Street Kit (Rated for 500+ ft lbs) installed for $1200. Also the Mitsu doesn't replace judt the diff, they want you to pay for a whole ne transfercase $4k+ intstalled vs Quaife and DIY w/ buddy install $1800. That is why I traded it in for a Z and I am much happier and no Evo guy will ever convience me otherwise. The Evo was a fast and fun car but RWD sports coupe is (IMO) more fun to drive and track. Plus the Z pulls in more as$ than an Evo. :nana:

Every 10* change in ambient temperature = a 1% increase or decrease in a NA car's rwhp output. If we were to go from say 100* to say 50* we would have a 5% increase Factoring on 240whp this is 12whp.

I am curious, the mods done, are they the most money-effective power mods for a 350Z? I know the Z is VERY expensive to mod, but not this expensive, is it? If so I see why we have a lot of near stock one's in my town.

PS, looking at your AF graph you have at LEAST another 10whp or so lurking in a tune. You are running pretty fat. Your baseline was also run 10* (or 1% more hp) cooler than the modded run... All in all, you should pu down around 30whp more with those mods, a good tune, and = dyno temps compared to stock. Maybe I am all wet, thats jsut what I get from your dyno-graph.

So you are saying that I gain HP due to a temp. increase? I'm confused on what you trying to say? I also don't beleive that temp is going to make that much of a difference. While it might keep the engine cooler longer I doubt that cars are gaining that much power.

I know my A/F is crazy. I'm still waiting on purchasing the UTEC and getting a tune. I've been watching the tuning sections on the Z forums and notice that N/A cars aren't making that much power from a UTEC tune. However I still plan on getting it cause I rather gain 10whp and the engine run safe than gain 30whp and have no idea what's going on inside the engine.

UPDATE: First took the Z to Bandimere Raceway: http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/index.php?...=47&t=21328

Also I'm ordering the UTEC today!!! !!! Also getting the TurboXS Tuner wideband w/ Bosch sensor and the Map switch. I also found another UTEC tuner local in Colorado Springs. He has a load bearing dyno so the number won't read as high but its like road tuning on a dyno. I plan on running a baseline pull, Curious to see what the UTEC's base map does, than we're going to town. We're going to start with two 91octane maps, Performance 91 Map and Daily drive map. Than once I save up some more money will run some race fuel. I'm excite but the wallet and wife isn't. LOL Oh well I'll keep everyone updated.

Get that UTEC on soon. You're running dangerously lean in the midrange. Without any kind of FI, I don't think you'll blow the motor, but you can really beat the crap out of your rings.

im surprised noone else has commented on that dyno.. looks like u need to kinda do some adjusting there toward the high end it gets kinda jumpy, not too bad but it shouldnt be that jagged, and yes temp does affect hp, not a ton but it can make a dif, and those r some pretty nice results on those mods, and not to be turning this into an n/a vrs f/i thread but to compair hp/$ for them is decieving because n/a mods have what i would call a glass ceiling, u do get decent hp/$ but u reach a point at which u have to put major money into it to get any more improvement

^ The Z is not a cheap car to mod.. thats my only complain
That was one of my reasons for not getting one. It is not only not cheap to mod, but even after spending all of that money you still won't have the much performance from it.

Of course, with any car, forced induction will be the best bang for the buck.
