@ $50 a HP still pretty pricey but the over all gain from the mods is good.
$800/ 17rwhp gain = $47 per hp vs $6000/ 70rwhp = $85hp vs. $8000/ 170rwhp = $47hp

have you deducted the price of the pullies? surely they won't have freed up any extra hp, right? :)
No I haven't but if I did it would be a total of $570. That would be $570/ 17rwhp = $33hp

Not sure what these numbers are supposed to represent, but there are two facts you cannot ignore. 1-no two cars are alike. 2-the higher the HP, the more it is going to cost to push it further.

I don't think those estimates really tell anything. When I added the Vortech to my car, I went from 265rwhp to over 400rwhp. I spent $5500 on he kit and install. So, by your math, my bang for the buck was...
$5500 / 135whp = approx $40.75hp

So your baseline was 265rwhp??? And I'm not saying anything bad about F/I. I, myself, want the HKS Rotorex Kit.

Think I'm going to wait on the rest of the exhaust. Kinda like the tone righit now and don't want to ruin it. Really thinking about the UTEC. My buddy at the dyno shop I go to thinks he could get 15rwhp and 10-15rwtq with the UTEC with the set-up right now.

Just so that you know! the tone wont change with replacing the y pipe.

It didn't on mine.

but just remember that the y pipe is really restrictive.

think about it before you go utec.

you will probably get alot more power out of it.

By the way how does the stock exhaust sound with the test pipes.

This I have never heard before!

Wondering if it sounds meaner than the nismo with stock cats?

I wonder if anyone has a sound clip??

I think it sound better/meaner than the Nismo cat-back w/ cats. I'll look into the Y-Pipe but just don't know. Exhaust note is such a neverous think to change.

^ The Z is not a cheap car to mod.. thats my only complain
I agree, and I'm coming from an Evo 8 to the Z. But I feel that 17rwhp & 10rwtq for $800 is a great start or something to hold you over till you're ready to F/I.

BTW: Who/What/Where did you get your avatar?

Well i'm happy you are satisfied with you're exhaust note!

Now you got me wanting to do the test pipe thingy!!

were the test pipes you used resonated or just straight through?

by the way kudos for smart mod choices.
