i would like to see some G35's with FI on this site!!
I want FI sooo bad, but the blown engine thing has me shook.
I pushed timing a little to far and broke a piston at the track .Building the block with Arias pistons and Pauter rods , Nismo cams . If you dont push your system and set it up safe you shouldnt need to worry about blowing it up....Bill
What was the total cost of the S/C including cost of system, install, tuning, etc?
let see....$4,300 for the kit . $1,200 install , $650 for gauges , Ive spent about $500 tuning , and $180 for 2 pulleys 3.12 and 2.87 serp pulleys . Plus....Edge racing torque converter , headers ,plenum , dual exhaust, 2 sets of high flow cats [RT's failed ] resonated test pipes that I sold [to loud ] Never seems to end , I find some thing new every day that I want to put on it....Bill
For the DIY'ers the Vortech kit is really easy to install. It took me about 3 days to install it along with resonated test pipes.
i would like to go with Turbo imo because i wouldn't want to have to change a pulley each time when i want more boost...but superchargers are cheaper though... hey booger i heard about you from brett (tig488) i think you bought the pistons and rods from him... he said you blew up your motor... man that stinks but this time you won't have to worry about it as much

Sweet, but let's not forget tools. Not having the right tools can prolong the install. I assume you had access to a shop. I'm relieved that the Vortech is a DIY job, but I would probably feel better if I had a mechanically inclined buddy helping me out. I can do some things, but that supercharger might be over my head. Did the kit come with detailed instructions?
Some guuy I work with said he got the run on video when I broke the piston.....told him I wanted to see it but Im not that tight with him so we'll see .

I wonder how much. It looks like out of the box it is a fit for the G.

Yeah, from the slide show, it looks like a decent fit. Some pricing info would be great. Any idea when the JWT TT hits the streets?
supposed to be January...I like the fact they went for the G35 first.
JWT has a good rep..
yeah that setup looks really good... so what do ya'll think about the Greddy Twin Turbo... i can get it for 5700 with FMIC... so thats not a bad deal... i'm saving and still saving.. but somebody said that Greddy TT has a lot of fault and APS is the way to go... but i'm not sure... really just want TT... any input?
from what I have read there maybe some problems with fuel managment and the install is complicated but there are many Greddy's TT set-us out there. Your best bet is to speak with a tuner who has installed them Evolution here on the east coast would be my choice. Also if you were thinking S/C kennedy dyno-tune in Buffalo can work magic with Vortech and ATI they also do Tec 3 ECU's and are tuners extrodinaire
I have 2004 6MT and currently have a second longblock in the shop being built now with forged gutz and mild cams. Sometime in early 2005 I'll have this new block and an APS TT system installed and tuned. My inten is to upgrade the fuel system ( with an AAM return system and the APS Plenum + injectors. Target is >500rwhp on 91 and >600rwhp on 100. The bulk of my tuning will most likley be done by Z-car in SJ CA since they'll have access to the Unichip Software.
that is everyone's dream: built long block and APS decorations I wish I too had a large pit in my backyard filled with money..instead on my 6MT it looks like the "Crawford Build" is in my future. I hear good rumors that Crawford is perfecting an NA 300rwhp package http://g35driver.com/forums/showflat.php?C...psed&sb=5&part= ..about 1/3 the price of internals plus APS and yes about half the power:)

Be real carefull with that Greddy TT kit :headshake: . We have done alot of FI on G's and Z's, and the best bet in my opinion is the JWT TT kit.
Good luck to everyone with their FI quests. If you do it you will love it. Make sure it it is done right by a good tuner who has worked alot on these VQ motors (with FI) Its all in the tuning, do it once and do it right and you should be trouble free and happy.
