Either he really loves the game and keeps thinking he can get another ring, or he can't find another job. He's not even 40 yet.... isn't that 65 in NFL years?

So I'm hearing/reading local rumors that Favre and his wife put down a deposit on a nice condo in an area that's known for being trendy. I also read that the Vikings have been talking with Marvin Harrison who was willing to come to MN to play if Favre did sign with the team. I don't know how true that is, but it's pretty good fireside cannon fodder!

He is going there. They guy cant stay out of the spotlight.

I knew the Jets getting him was a huge mistake, what made it worse was the stomping Pennington (My first child was going to be named Chadwick if he lead us to the promised land, loved that guy.) put on us at the end of the year. Glad i got to see that in person...

I saw the sports news today about how he'll announce whether he's going to play for the Vikes. As much as I can't stand the guy, I'm getting caught up in all the local drama and hoping that this will be an interesting year for the NFL.

QUOTE
It appears that Brett Favre's marriage with Minnesota will end in divorce before he ever said "I do."

Vikings coach Brad Childress is calling his players to inform them that Favre will stay retired.

"I just got off the phone with Brad, and Brett said he's staying retired," Vikings defensive end Jared Allen told FOXSports.com Tuesday. "He said he couldn't deal with the daily grind. He said he felt like he let us down before it got started.

"You know what, we were never really sure he was coming anyway, so we've always backed up Tarvaris (Jackson) and Sage (Rosenfels). We feel we can win with the guys we have here. I'm glad it's over."

Favre had called Childress on Tuesday to inform him of his decision.

"It was a rare and unique opportunity to consider adding not only a future Hall of Fame quarterback but one that is very familiar with our system and division," Childress said in a statement. "That does not detract from the team that we have. ... We feel good about our team and they have put forth a tremendous effort this offseason preparing for the season ahead."

Several players have grown tired of waiting for Favre's decision, especially as there were signs last week that Favre was having second thoughts of coming out of retirement.
